Clermont Area Cemeteries

Clermont residents who passed away were usually buried in one of two cemeteries.  They were buried in either in the Clermont Cemetery or in St Elizabeth's portion of Rosehill Cemetery in Smethport. Protestants were buried in the Clermont Cemetery and Catholics in St Elizabeth Cemetery. Here are several tombstones in the Clermont Cemetery .

Here are some views of Rosehill Cemetery and St. Elizabeth Cemetery where Catholics from Clermont are buried.

Several people originally living in Clermont and having served in the United States Armed Forces are buried in St Elizabeth Cemetery in Smethport. The United States provides markers in addition to any the family may provide. On Memorial Day the local members of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars provide and place American flags at the gravesite. Here are two veteran markers. The first one is for my father who served in World War I.

This one is of John Yoder who served in World War II.
